“HUITZMALOTEPETL” 2025

Edward James Museum, Xilitla

Huitzmalotepetl, better known as "La Silleta," is an emblematic symbol of Xilitla and the Huasteca Potosina region. This imposing monolith has been, since pre-Hispanic times, a point of connection between heaven and earth, between the sacred, nature, and humanity.

Inspired by this worldview, the second edition of Huitzmalotepetl brings together Potosino artists in a space where visual creation becomes a bridge between the past and the present.

“Guardianes de la Memoria” 2025

(Guardians of Memory)

Dan Monsivais, SLP

Guardians of Memory is a collection of three pieces that explore the connection with time, the subconscious nature of human beings, and how I perceive my own consciousness as a dialogue between internal stances. Through these works, I represent this process as the interaction of three figures with divine qualities, inspired by Renaissance symbolism.

Each figure acts as a guardian of thoughts, uniting their knowledge with that of others to shape lived experience. From their respective areas of learning, their actions reflect the internal dialogues that construct perception and understanding. Using symbols and allegories, these characters participate in the creation of human reality, becoming essential pieces of a process that transcends the individual to connect with the universal.
