International Museum Day, celebrated every year at the initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), recognizes museums as fundamental spaces for dialogue, heritage preservation and cultural exchange.
In this edition, Dan Monsivais had the opportunity to participate for the first time as a guest artist in two venues, presenting his first solo exhibition, in addition to participating in a collective contemporary exhibition.

Do you recognize the moment when everything collapses? It's also the moment when the possibility of transformation begins. Through symbolic language, the paintings explore uncertainty, vulnerability, and hope, reminding us that even the deepest storms harbor a silent force capable of guiding us toward a new way of inhabiting our inner world.
Presented individually at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Luis Potosí, the series engages with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by connecting with Good Health and Well-being (Goal 3), highlighting mental health, and with Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11), creating a space for community reflection. More than representing pain, Monsivais's work offers a visual refuge to inhabit it and recognize it as a shared human experience.

“LENTO FUEGO”

There are emotions that don't ignite all at once. They simmer silently, transforming how we remember, how we love, and how we inhabit absence. Slow Fire is born from that invisible time: the time of grief that doesn't seek to be overcome, but understood; the time of wounds that, when listened to, cease to consume us and become part of who we are.
By simulating a restaurant menu, Slow Fire is an installation that explores grief as a silent process of transformation. Far from understanding it as a moment of closure, the work addresses the time needed to move through loss, accept the permanence of absence, and discover that some wounds don't disappear: they change shape. Through symbolic language, the installation invites us to inhabit that slow fire where pain, memory, and love ultimately find a new equilibrium.
